Portea Medical in partnership with Fortis Malar, Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital and Manipal Health Enterprises

To extend its comprehensive range of home healthcare services to patients of these leading healthcare providers

Portea Medical, provider of home healthcare services has signed partnership deals with leading healthcare providers like Fortis Malar, Chennai, Hyderabad-based Basavatarakam Indo – American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute and Manipal Health Enterprises recently.

Portea Medical will provide patients discharged from Fortis Malar Hospital with post-operative care including physiotherapy as well as other medical care in the comfort of their homes and during pre-agreed time slots. The services are delivered by Portea Medical’s doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and nursing attendants. Portea Medical’s ancillary services such as medical equipment on hire, medicine delivery and collection of lab samples from home, will also be made available to patients.

The agreement with Basavatarakam Indo – American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute is to provide a range of cancer therapy services and palliative care treatment to cancer patients at home. The care services delivered by Portea Medical include supportive therapy to contain the side effects of chemotherapy, and procedures such as tracheotomy. In addition, Portea Medical clinicians will assist with activities such as bathing, grooming etc. The entire care programme will reportedly be delivered in close conjunction with the specialist from Basavatarakam who is treating the patient. Also, Portea Medical’s ancillary services such as medical equipment on hire, medicine delivery and collection of lab samples from home, will be made available to patients.

Portea Medical’s deal with Manipal Health Enterprises is to expand its homecare wing, Manipal Homecare. With the partnership, Manipal Homecare will provide physician consultations, specialised nursing, physiotherapy, diagnostics, pharma delivery and equipment rentals. Products ranging from comprehensive post-surgical care packages to cancer care and neuro rehab services will be made available to patients. Reportedly, customised products will be developed for chronic disease management (viz. diabetes, hypertension), as well as preventive healthcare management (viz. Home health-checks, elderly care services, women care packages).
