Fortis Hospitals launches Cancer Institute in Bengaluru

To counter the growing scourge of cancer in the state of Karnataka and give patients access to world class treatment facilities Fortis Hospitals, launched a specialised Cancer Institute in Bengaluru recently. Basavaraj Bommai Home Minister, Karnataka and L Suryanarayana Tejasvi, MP, Bengaluru South Constituency inaugurated the institute which is equipped with advanced technology and the latest equipment at Fortis Hospital Bannerghatta Road unit to provide comprehensive cancer care in a holistic manner.
The cancer institute will have 200 beds dedicated for treating patients with an aim to provide 360 degree comprehensive cancer care under one roof. There are various services available at the centre which includes advanced surgical oncology, robotic cancer surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, haemato oncology, neuro oncology, uro oncology, nuclear medicine, psycho oncology, onco-pathology, interventional radiology, palliative and rehabilitative care, all made available to enhance patient experience while undergoing cancer treatment.
In line with this, Dr Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, MD and CEO, Fortis Healthcare, said, “With the rise in cancer cases and with the lack of specialised centres, having a dedicated institute for treating the disease is the need of the hour.
