Wockhardt Foundation and Lions Club of Bombay launch charitable health clinic in Mumbai

200 students from Sir JJ Fort Boys’ & Girls’ High School availed free medical checkup and consultation on the first day of launch

Wockhardt Foundation has opened a charitable clinic in South Mumbai to help treat the underprivileged section of society. This clinic will be managed jointly by Wockhardt Foundation and Lions Club of Bombay.

The clinic was inaugurated by Nafisa Khorakiwala, Chairperson, Wockhardt Foundation; Samina Khorakiwala, Trustee, Wockhardt Foundation; Cawas Lalkaka, Senior Holding Trustee, Lions Club of Bombay in the presence of students from Sir JJ Fort Boys’ & Girls’ High School.

This clinic is situated opposite New Excelsior Cinema in Fort, South Mumbai and would be operational six days in a week from 9 am to 6 pm.

Reportedly, facilities available at the clinic include consultation with physicians, ECG check, physiotherapy, eye check up and pathology tests for blood biochemistry. Patients can avail consultation with the physician and physiotherapist only for Rs 20/- Other services can also be availed at very nominal fees.

Nafisa Khorakiwala said, “Proper treatment and medication is a right to every person, poor or rich. Every life is important; and we believe that no one should be deprived of their right to healthcare. We aim at providing the best to the needy, and help them live a good sustainable life. Our charitable clinic is a small step to provide the best timely treatment to the children and all other people here.”

Cawas Lalkaka said, “We are happy to associate with Wockhardt Foundation in this noble cause. Lions Club will be reaching out to six to seven more schools in South Mumbai offering students free medical checkups.”
