Nanavati Super Specialty Hospital organises campaigns to celebrate International Women’s Day

Women were made aware of several diseases and the importance of preventive check-ups and CPR

Nanavati Super Specialty Hospital initiated several programmes and campaigns for making women aware of preventive healthcare. The initiatives at the hospital and other parts of the city included urological consultation for senior women (Live360@60), lecture about women health complications and preventive techniques, the importance of Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), ‘Health Mela’ for preventive check-ups and a social media campaign (I Make it Happen) among others.

Nanavati hospital celebrated womanhood by hosting special two-day programmes in several locations of Mumbai. The programmes and campaigns primarily aimed at educating women to reduce the risk of lifestyle diseases by emphasising on the importance of preventive health check-up as they are an integral part of the family and society.

Live360@60 for senior women witnessed participation of over 200 seniors who were benefited by urological consultation and a lecture on complications by Dr Avinash Arora, Sr Consultant Urologist. The lecture was followed by woman-oriented special documentary Film on ‘Sindhu Tai Sapkal, social worker and Arunima Sinha, volleyball champion and Mount Everest climber.’

A health talk was given at YWCA, Andheri (West), Versova by Dr Pradeep Bhosale, Orthopedic Surgeon, Director Arthritis and Joint Replacement Centre and Dr Nikhil Sardar, Sr Consultant Ophthalmology.

At BramhaKumaris, Goregaon (E), Dr Akshay Deodhar, In-Charge Accident & Emergency Department – Nanavati Hospital gave the Informative Lecture on ‘Why Women should learn CPR’ followed by live CPR training to the audience by giving basic life support skills including CPR, AED use, and ventilations at the time of cardiac arrest to approximately 150-200 audience.

Dr Akshay Deodhar, In-Charge Accident & Emergency Department – Nanavati Hospital speaking on this occasion said, “Every woman needs to take proper care of her health and her lifestyle choices. We should celebrate women’s day by taking responsibility and care of their health. For this, regular preventive health checkups are necessary for women to avoid complications.”

The hospital also hosted Health Mela. A general screening camp for women conducted random blood sugar, BMI, bone mineral density, blood pressure, ECG and provided consultations venue camp in Kandivali, Mumbai. A campaign was also initiated for social media on women empowered employees ‘I Make it Happen’ featuring iconic women’s of Nanavati Hospital featuring all the lady doctors and administrators.
