Offer covers more than fifty surgical procedures

Kohinoor Hospital, Kurla, has introduced its ‘Weekend Short Stay Surgical Program’. It provides patients the convenience of undergoing a surgery over the weekend and resuming work on Monday.

Kohinoor Hospital has kept the cost at par with a regular short stay weekday surgery. The programme was inaugurated in the presence of Dr OP Kapoor, Senior Consulting Physician and covers over fifty surgical procedures including open hernias, thyroid lap hernia repair, gall bladder stones surgery, varicose vein, mrm and cervical biopsy category.

Dr Rajeev Boudhankar, VP, Kohinoor Hospital said, “More than 80 per cent of the families who get admitted in the hospital comprise the working class. Most hospitals don’t carry out surgeries on Sunday unless it is an emergency. Our short stay program is available to people on weekends, so they can get admitted on weekend, get operated on same day and resume work on Monday. This option is available to families who find it difficult to take leave from work for a surgery or treatment.”

Reportedly, the hospital will also offer the programme to private and public sector companies for the benefit of their employees and to make up for the losses incurred due to non-availability of employees due to medical leave taken for surgeries that don’t require a long hospital stay.
