A mobile van has been installed with a digital X – Ray machine, more could be added considering requirement. It will be used to examine suspected, asymptomatic COVID-19 patients using X-Ray machine

EzyMov, reportedly India’s first wheel-chair taxi service for physically impaired people recently opened up its fleet of vans to support Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s efforts to install digital X-Ray clinics on its mobile dispensary vehicles. These mobile X-Ray machines were dedicated to the people of Dharavi on May 28. By June 2, 535 people have been screened using this mobile digital X-ray machine in Dharavi.

About 10 vehicles deployed for the said purpose, one dispensary mobile van of EzyMov has been installed with a digital X – Ray machine and more could be added considering the requirement. It will be used to examine suspected and asymptomatic COVID-19 patients using the X-Ray machine. It will help in the early diagnosis of patients, particularly asymptomatic ones. Dharavi, which has seen the highest number of COVID-19 patients since its outbreak, these Mobile X-Ray clinics will facilitate fast screenings.

Bennet D’cunha, Co-Founder and Director, EzyMov said, “World-over, X-Ray and CT scans have helped in identifying patients even without symptoms. These mobile X-Ray clinics including ours will initially be placed in Dharavi. It will help in early detection of more COVID-19 patients in this and other slum areas. These spot radiology-screenings will also help in controlling the wrong positive reporting of the cases too. As we run our wheelchair taxis for physically impaired people in the city, we are an integral part of Mumbai’s healthcare infrastructure and know the requirements of people in such a distress situation.”

This service called as ‘Mobile Dispensary Seva’, has been organised by Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana (BJS) in collaboration with CREDAI and MCHI where EzyMov has provided its vans and converted them into easy-to-operate dispensaries. The BMC has provided medical infrastructure, doctors and other staff.
