Dr Lal PathLabs announces expansion plans in Bengaluru city

Aims to open 50 centres and laboratories by December 2015

Dr Lal PathLabs is unveiling a series of initiatives designed to cater to the diagnostic testing requirements of the city. This will fulfil the anticipated business growth over a period of time in Bengaluru city.

Dr Lal PathLabs is planning to further expand its operations in Bengaluru through a series of centres and laboratories in the city and intend to reach a total number of 50 centres in Bengaluru by December 2015.

Out of these, recently eight centres were inaugurated in Kumaraswamy, Jayanagar, Basavangudi, Malleswaram, Chandra Layout, Mahalaxmi Layout, Kaggadasapura and Sanjay Nagar. Two new labs at White Field and Electronic City will be launched in next few days. The next round will see the launch of another 16 centres by the end of third quarter of FY16. With that the total footprint will be 37 (32 centres five labs).

Adding to this, Dr Om Manchanda, CEO, Dr Lal PathLabs said, “Diagnosis is a very intrinsic part of any treatment. With Dr Lal PathLabs covering most of the areas of the city, we basically aim to provide the services to everyone with the fast turnaround time. We are excited on the growth but at the same time we are also responsible for creating a healthy environment by providing quality and hygiene to our patients.”

Vijender Singh, COO – Region-1 and CEO – International, Dr Lal PathLabs quoted further, “We consciously undertook the challenge of aggressively expanding our presence through an emphasis on covering every corner of the city. Our quality plus being closer to our customer is our strength.”

The company is upgrading its reference lab in Marathalli which will be operational by October 2015. Reportedly, this will result in increased test capacity and more tests will be done locally which in turn will reduce the TAT (turnaround time) to generate faster reporting. The company presently has four labs and 16 diagnostic centres in Bengaluru.
