Ties up with NSDC, AIIMS, Cansupport and TATA Memorial for training and certification, aligns with Government of India’s vision of ‘Skill India’

Care24, a start-up in the home healthcare sector in India, aims to train upto 10,000 certified healthcare attendants by the end of 2017 under their uniquely designed ‘healthcare skilling programme’ to build a stronger workforce for the healthcare industry in India. Working in tandem with specialised agencies such as NSDC, AIIMS, Tata Memorial etc for their training and certification processes, Care24 wants to create specialised services workforce for the unorganised and scattered healthcare market and align itself with the Government of India’s vision of ‘Skill India.’

Care24 plans to train healthcare attendants for specialised treatments such as cancer care, neurological disorders, orthopaedic, cardiac and other chronic care. It follows a 12-step selection process which includes background check before hiring talent along with legal and medical checks. They also make the workforce go through reading and writing tests, physical tests while simultaneously providing a two-week intense training for building specialised skills, before assigned them a full time or part time employment opportunity. The caregivers are initially assisted by a senior consultant so they can receive additional hand-on training during their first week as a healthcare attendant. They are not only trained with the appropriate medical knowledge but are also groomed with soft skills and technical know-how that is a requisite for their employment. Apart from this, investment in training healthcare attendants, Care24 also provides well equipped hygiene and grooming kits to all its caregivers.

Care24 is also developing modules for training attendants in cognitive exercises that would in turn help patients with neurological disorders such as Alzheimer, Dementia etc. This module will help the attendants keep their patients mental activity higher and hence create a better quality of life.
