Resil Chemicals has won a national award from the Technology Development Board, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, for successful commercialisation of an indigenous technology, N9 Pure SilverTM. The President of India, Pranab Mukherjee presented this award, which includes a cash prize of Rs 10 lakhs and a trophy to MS Vijayan, Joint MD, Resil Chemicals on Technology Day, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. MS Mohan, MD and Ganesh Srinivasan, Executive Director – Innovation were also part of the felicitation ceremony. Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Science and Technology and YS Chowdary, Minister for State for Science and Technology were present at the event.
As an antibacterial and hygiene finish applied on fabrics or garments, N9 Pure Silver is based on particulate silver-based technology that, on contact, neutralises odour-causing bacteria, keeping textiles fresher for longer. This technology delivers odour control performance, combined with environmental credentials and safety profile.
According to the company, N9 Pure Silver can be potentially used in specialised fabrics such as hospital textiles, military wear, as well as articles of daily use, such as clothing, and bed linen, etc.
The company also manufactures performance chemicals for a range of industries. In the pharma and healthcare industry, they manufacture pharma-grade antifoam and defoamers.
