3M India launches ‘3M Nursing Leadership Awards’

The initiative will focus on promoting best practices and replicate them to upgrade overall nursing practices in India

3M India, the Indian subsidiary of 3M, announced the launch of their flagship nursing recognition programme ‘3M Nursing Leadership Awards’. This unique initiative aims to recognise nurses for their contribution towards achieving excellence in clinical practice, quality, safety, community outreach service, leadership and innovation.

The initiative will focus on promoting best practices and replicate them to upgrade overall nursing practices in India. The national platform for recognition, in its first edition, received 150+ nominations from 100+ registered hospitals. The company also leveraged its partnership with INS (Indian Nurses Society) and AORN (Association of Operating Room Nurses) to evaluate the nominations and select the final 13 awards across five categories.

The jury members included Col Binu Sharma – President, INS India and Sr VP Nursing Services, Columbia Asia; Swapna Joshi- Advisor- AORN, Professor and Nursing Superintendent TATA Memorial Hospital and Dr Vikram Guduri- ICU ROH Solutions Leader – Asia Region, 3M Medical Solution Division.

Col Sharma said, “The National Leadership Summit is an excellent initiative to bring nurse leaders together to share best practices, networking opportunities and a very engaging learning platform. The national awards has been a great thought to motivate, inspire nurses to showcase the excellence in the various job roles and apply newer ideas in nursing practice. I congratulate and compliment 3M for a great initiative providing multiple opportunities to nurse leaders at a national level.”

Joshi said, “I appreciate the initiative taken by 3M team this year. It was excellent to see such response from upcoming leaders. It will motivate them to participate and grow in their career path and develop leadership. Nurses in India need such opportunities to explore their potential. Congratulations to 3M.”

    How can 3M company find out the ability or skill of nurses ? These companies do not even have indirect contact with nurses, and what is the eligibility criteria ? Which kind of hospitals they will consider ?
