Army doctors will get acquainted with latest imaging modalities and recent developments in radiology

Indian Radiologial Imaging Association(IRIA) has come up with a unique initiative where it is going to train army doctors on radiology. IRIA has named this initiative as ‘Radiology for Indian Army.’

In mid-July this year, IRIA will start its expedition from Manali to Khardung La in Ladakh. 50 eminent radiologists have been chosen for this mission. They will travel by road from Manali to Khardung La. Seminars, workshops and other academic activities will be conducted for army personnel and doctors in army camps.

“Radiolography may prove to be a valuable tool to diagnose early and accurately. Our aim is to help army doctors get acquainted with latest imaging modalities and recent developments in radiology,” said Dr Hemant Patel, President, IRIA said.

“Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) can affect people who are at an altitude over 2,400 m. Indian army protects us despite all adversaries. We are trying to do our bit as a gratitute towards Indian Army,” said Dr Sandeep Kavthale, Joint Secretary, IRIA and Chief Co-ordinoator for the tour.

Dr Murali Krishan, Chairman of Youth Wing, IRIA – YUVA IRIA, said, “More and more doctors should plan such tours. This will help them to understand the hardships faced by the Army.”
