Sutures India’s new skill laboratory was inaugurated by Vishal Bali, Asia Head- Healthcare TPG Growth & Co Chair of FICCI Health Services Committee, Director of Sutures India.
It was set up with an aim to train young PGs, interns and other surgeons on laparoscopic surgical techniques and advanced suturing techniques in a virtual environment. Aided by experienced faculty, the facility will also impart training to surgeons and gynaecologists.
Welcoming the guests, YS Prabhakar, CEO, Sutures India mentioned that the company has deployed best resources and infrastructure for this facility in its Bengaluru campus to make it only one of its kind in entire Southern India and the SIPL group intends to train several doctors through this educational initiative.
Bali said that such educational and skill development programmes were indeed the need of the hour. He added that practical/hands-on experience and training for young practitioners would be of immense value through their practising careers. He said, given the vast reach and reputation of Sutures India over 23 years, these training courses will soon be well sought after.
The lab will host the first sessions in early August 2015.
