SKH launches mobile dispensary van for SPARSH at Sevalia

SPRASH programme will be implemented in 150 villages of Anand, Kheda and Panchmahal district for diagnosing and treating NCDs

Shree Krsihna Hospital (SKH), Extension Program Department has launched a new mobile dispensary van for Shree Krishna Hospital`s Programme for Advancement of Rural and Social Health (SPARSH) project at Sevalia, Gujarat. The team operating the van will have assistant medical officer, two paramedics. SPRASH programme is an innovative programme which is being implemented in 150 villages of Anand, Kheda and Panchmahal district for diagnosing and treating non communicable diseases in the community.

The facilities setup in the van mainly focus on hypertensive and diabetic patients. diagnostic tests like HbA1C, Fundus examination, ECG, diabetic foot assessment by Bioesthiometer, Vibrotherm and Vascular Doppler will be done. The van is also equipped with an LCD TV and speakers for conducting sensitizing sessions about diseases or even health promotion.

The inauguration function was held at Sonaba Hospital and Sadaba Prasuti Gruh, Sevalia managed by Shree Krishna Hospital, Karamsad. The van was inaugurated Dr Ramanbhai Patel, Medical Director, BN Patel Institute of Paramedical & Science, who was the Chief Guest, in the presence of Dr Jayantibhai Patel, Shantibhai Patel, Naginbhai Patel, Trustee of the Sonaba and Sadaba Hospital, Thakorbhai Patel, Provost Bhaikaka University, Dr Utpala Kharod, Secretary Charutar Arogya Madal, Jagrut Bhatt, CEO, Charutar Arogya Mandal and Sandeep Desai.

The mobile dispensary van was donated by Dr Jayantibhai Patel in memory of his wife Ramaben Patel. The purpose is to provide primary healthcare services to the inaccessible and vulnerable population of the remote operating areas under the SPARSH project of the Charutar Arogya Mandal.

According to Head Extension Department Dr Shyamsundar Raiththa, the mobile dispensary van will conduct the health camps near and around Sevalia under the SPARSH Program where Mobile Health Team (MHT) will diagnosis and treat the non communicable diseases like hypertension, diabetic, COPD, cancer etc.
