Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, inaugurated the Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital at Katra in Jammu. Dr Devi Prasad Shetty, Chairman and MD, Narayana Hrudayalaya was also present at the inauguration ceremony along with various dignitaries including Mehbooba Mufti, Chief Minister, Jammu and Kashmir and NN Vohra, Governor, Jammu and Kashmir.

Reportedly, Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital is the first tertiary care hospital in Jammu offering medical and surgical treatment for all super-specialities such as cardiac sciences, oncology, neurosciences, nephrology, orthopaedics, urology, gastroenterology, paediatrics and gynaecology. The 230-bed hospital will also offer 24-hour fully functional laboratory, trauma care and emergency services. It claims to be the only hospital in J&K to have a linear accelerator. The hospital will provide access to better healthcare facilities and services.
