Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital organised a cancer screening programme on National Cancer Awareness Day in response to Ministry of Health & Family Welfare’s suggestion to all stakeholders of the healthcare delivery systems to carry out cancer awareness cum screening activities.

The hospital will also be running dedicated OPDs for cancer screening in surgery, gynaecology and ENT departments with diagnostic back up from radiology and pathology departments. As part of the activities, an extensive awareness campaign has been initiated through nukkad nataks, health talks and poster competition. The posters will be displayed for public awareness. Warning signs of breast, oral and genital cancers along with methods for prevention will be highlighted through the awareness campaign. The hospital has also commenced a dedicated Breast Cancer Service with OPDs from 2 pm to 4 pm on Wednesdays. Cancer clinics are already being run for gynaecology on Tuesdays and Fridays from 2 pm to 4 pm and for ENT on Friday afternoon.
