Symbiosis celebrated International Students Day on July 31, 2013, with traditional fervor and gaiety. Multiple social and cultural events were organised, most significant of which was Blood Donation Camp arranged simultaneously at seven campuses of Symbiosis in Pune and three campuses at Noida, Nashik and Bangalore. The Blood Donation Camp was arranged by Symbiosis Centre of Health Care (SCHC).
The campaigning and motivation drive to maximize the turnout for the blood donation camp was done by MBA students of Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences under the supervision of healthcare professionals of SCHC.
Dr Rajiv Yeravadekar, Director of SCHC informed our correspondent that motivation campaign was going on for many days in which skits & street plays enacted by the MBA students were performed on all campuses. Additionally posters, banners, signages were erected to create awareness for the camp. A special motivation film made by Symbiosis Studios was shown to students at various campuses.
Due to the efforts taken, Symbiosis Centres of Health Care in collaboration with charitable blood banks of the city collected 2002 units of blood. Enthusiastic voluntary donors contributed to the noble cause of donating blood.
The universal slogan delivered by the campaigning students was, “Give mankind the greatest gift. Donate blood when blood bank comes to your place”.
